About Us
Brittor Fabara is a small team of young Odias reviving a fading craft — the making of fragrance from real flowers, the way it was done on this coast for generations — and giving it a voice for today.
We are from Cuttack, the old river city of Odisha, where the Mahanadi meets the sky and the walls of Barabati Fort still remember the sailors, traders and kings who passed through. Our name is a quiet tribute to that place: Brittor Fabara is an anagram of Barabati Fort.
We grew up around this heritage — the temples, the festivals, the smell of rain on warm earth and of flower garlands at dawn — and we noticed something. The stories were everywhere, but the scents that carried them were slowly being forgotten.
Long before modern perfumery, India perfected the art of capturing a flower’s soul in a drop — patiently, by hand, over wood fires, in copper vessels sealed with clay. Along Odisha’s Ganjam coast, families still distil the wild Kewda blossom this way. It is slow and demanding, and keeping it alive takes new hands.
We believe this craft deserves a future. So we are building a fragrance house around it — one that honours the traditional makers, tells Odisha’s story with pride, and brings the result to people who care about where their scent comes from.
Every Brittor Fabara fragrance begins with Ganjam Kewda, the golden, honeyed, green-floral heart of the coast. Around it, our first collection — Collection Kalinga — draws its inspiration from three monuments that define Odisha: Barabati Fort (Arrival), the Konark Sun Temple (Sacred) and the Jagannath Temple of Puri (Journey).
The olive ridley turtle on our crest completes the story. Every year, these turtles cross the ocean and return to the very beaches of Odisha where they were born. To us it stands for resilience, belonging, and the art of returning home.
Rooted
Odisha’s coast, Odisha’s monuments, Odisha’s craft — our story starts here and stays here.
Respectful
Our hero ingredient comes from traditional distillers. We want their craft to thrive, not disappear.
Refined
We would rather make less and make it well. Every release is planned in small, carefully finished batches.
